A ‘death knell?’ Not exactly

In response to Nelson Griswold’s podcast (“House bill a ‘death knell’ for Brokers”), Robert Landry of New England Benefits clarifies that that Massachusetts Commonwealth Connector has primarily focused on consumers, not small businesses. “They are still piloting ‘contributory’ plans which equate to small group plans but the advantages of this approach are unclear,” he says. “There does not [appear] to be any clear advantage for small groups to go through the Connector versus their broker.”
