Walter B. Podgurski CLU entered the insurance business after graduating from Miami University of Ohio in 1969. He received his Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designation in 1976. ûThe great majority of his early experience was in the area of Voluntary Employee Benefit Plans. He has been involved in the sales and service of over 1,500 payroll deduction accounts in Ohio, Nevada, Canada, and California.ûMr. Podgurski has also served at almost every field level in insurance; Agent, 1st Line Manager, 2nd Line Manager, State Manager, and in a Home Office capacity as VP of Marketing. He has also served as President of his own consulting firm, and has conducted voluntary benefits training and related seminars in the U.S., Canada, and England. ûHe has also written what is considered to be the authoritative work on Worksite Marketing "From Worksite Marketing To Website Marketing" which is published by The National Underwriter Company.ûIn July of 1997, Mr. Podgurski formed what is now Insurance Broadcasting which publishes a daily e-mail newsletter “INSURANCE NEWSCAST” covering the news and events of the insurance and financial services industries that is subscribed to by over 180,000 insurance industry professionals from over 40 countriesûInsurance Broadcasting also owns and operates other industry associations and training companies including; the Workplace Benefits Association, the Insurance Media Association, Insurance Campus, and Insurance Media University.ûIn February 2011 Mr. Podgurski sold Insurance Broadcasting and related assets to SourceMedia, a print publisher and event company, where Mr. Podgurski continues to work.ûMr. Podgurski and his wife Betsy live part of the year near Cleveland, Ohio and part of the year in Saint Augustine, Florida, and have two children, Walt & Melanie, and five grandchildren.
